The "four horsemen of the apocalypse" refers to the four horsemen which rode forth from the first 4 of the 7 seals stated in the Bible.

The four horsemen are:

  • The first horsemen riding on a white horse and holding a bow is Conquest. I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals.Then I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder,"Come!" I looked, and there beofre me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conquer bend on conquest.~~ (Rev 6:1-2 NIV)
  • The second horsemen riding on a red horse and holding a sword is War. When the Lamb opened the second sewal, I heard the second living creature say, "Come!"
